Comprehension Techniques Workbook 1

Use this book during the second semester of Grade One, or once students have read Blue Book. Its purpose is to develop reading comprehension. Children complete practical exercises in tenses of verbs that are given so that they gain the ability to use verbs correctly and easily. They’ll read sentences with the first lesson. Exercises develop sentence understanding by involving the students in the practice of grouping words for meaning even while reading silently. After reading the sentence, there’s the opportunity to identify the keyword of the sentence, and exercise vocabulary to state the main idea of a sentence by creating a title for it.
